OUR TAX $ HARD AT WORK!
By: Ron Wilson
April 18, 2011.... The head of the
Bureau of Reclamation
of California shut down
New Melones Lake even though the United States did not run out of
money and shut down, what an idiot. He even chased away everyone that
was camping at the lake including Taggart Construction members who were
camped there for the weekend.
His action cost us taxpayer money and he also cost the city of Angels
camp money as he canceled the Nor-cal Bass Tournament that was going to
be held there the next day.
I hope I live long enough for the people in the United States to
revolt against there government like they are now doing in Libya, you
can bet your ass I will be out there limping along with my gun in my
hand with them.
Carl Wagoner and I had pre-fished the lake from the Camp 9 bridge all
the way down Angels Creek arm and south to the ski course. The lake
level was coming up a foot a day and the fishing was tough most days.
Carl and I put together a good pattern with 3 pound fish and stood a
good chance of making a pay day on the lake until the Bureau of
Reclamation chief with his head up his ass cancelled the tournament. I
feel he also cost Carl and myself a buck or two.
Lake Don Pedro
is our next tournament so Carl and I have been catching bass there. For
the last few months I have been showing Carl a lot of good fishing spots
from one end of the lake to the other, Woods Creek, Rogers Arm and Big
Creek just to name a few.
Not sure but I think he has been to all the areas with other
fishermen as when I take him to some of the areas he says well me and
Bass Professional Norval Pimentel have caught fish over there and that
spot over there and lets go check out the outhouse in second bay etc.
We have been having a ball, no monster fish yet but lots of 3 to 5
pound bass. Hopefully we will find one of the big gals to weigh in on
tournament day.
Fishermen are pounding the bass as I took 5 13 inch fish to the
cleaning station
and I could not believe all the 4 and 5 pound heads I pulled from the
stopped up fish grinder. To bad that these fishermen eat with there eyes
and not there taste.
The Tuolumne River
has been running almost brim full
since
the first of the year to keep the water level in Lake Don Pedro from
getting to high. The lake level has fallen about 7 feet in the last
couple weeks as they are now releasing water so fast that at places the
river is running out of its banks.
With the fishing being slow at New Melones and lots of big bass
biting at Lake Don Pedro every day of the week the boat ramp is busy and
I have even seen some trout fishermen that are now using there boats to
catch black bass as
its an easier species to target there right now. If your are a
black bass fisherman
now is the time to be on the water as the spawning is on and will
continue into next month. |
