Frenchman Reservoir

  • Description
    Frenchman Reservoir is in the Plumas National Forest and has 21 miles of sage and pine covered shoreline. Frenchman has two boat ramps that are easily accessible except during severe winter weather. There is one improved and three unimproved campgrounds situated around the lake suitable for tent, RV's and trailers.

    Directions to Lake: From Sierraville, on Hwy 49-89; take Hwy 49 N, go 25 mi. to Hwy 70 at Vinton. Turn E, go 2 mi. to Chilcoot. Turn N, go 7 miles on Frenchman Road, then E across dam to campsites.
