Loon Lake

    Loon Lake is located approximately 100 miles from Sacramento in the Crystal Basin Recreation Area. The Forest Service maintains several camping facilities suitable for both tents, RV's, and group camping. All boating is permitted as well as swimming and water-skiing. Improved  launching facilities are available.

    Closest Services: Resort on Ice House Road.
    Directions to: Pollock Pines
    Directions to Lake: From Pollock Pines, on Hwy 50; go E 9 mi. to Ice House Rd., near Riverton. Turn N on Ice House Rd., toward Crystal Basin, go 10.5 mi. to Ice House Reservoir turn-off. 1) Turn E, go 1.5 mi. to Ice House Res. 2) Stay on Ice House Rd., go 5.5 mi. farther. Turn W, go 1.5 mi. to Union Valley Reservoir. 3) Continue on Ice House Rd., go 13 mi. farther to Loon Lake Rd. Turn E, go 5 mi. to fork in road, then turn E to lake.
